After one sleepless night of troubleshooting and cursing Open Core Legacy Patcher finally installed properly. Turns out the entire issue was that the previous owner hadn't reset the PRAM... So by holding ⌥ + ⌘ + P + R while the machine was booting I reset the PRAM myself.
I've made the 'projects' page easier to read. Posts are now categorized by date, instead of the date being included in each seperate post. This also allows for easier navigation on this page.
My fucking exhaust broke off. At first I wasn't that worried, until I found out that it's actually illegal to drive around with a faulty muffler, so since last sunday the 16th I've lived my life in fear. I've ordered new front and rear mufflers and some other installing bits. I will update here once they arrive.
After a lot of trial and error my Mac Pro 5,1 can now finally run an operating system without throwing a tantrum. I've spent the past two hours trying to make a bootable USB drive with basic utilities and an installer for MacOS 10.14 Mojave on it. It didn't take long to install, thanks to the fairly fast SSD that I installed. I'm now planning to use Open Core Legacy Patcher to update to a newer version that is not actually supported on my Mac. I've read on Reddit that MacOS 12 Monterey works well without many issues. However, I would prefer to install MacOS 15 Sequoia because it supports more applications. I'll probably try Sequoia first, then if that doesn't work I'll wipe the drive and reinstall MacOS 10.14 Mojave to then patch it to MacOS 12 Monterey.
Whilst trying to make the website scale properly on my Nintendo New 3DS I have accidentally fixed the homepage scaling issue on most mobile devices, except for the 3DS. The homepage is actually usable now on iPads, and probably most Android tablets too.
In my free time I will work on getting the website to show up correctly on the 2DS, 3DS (XL), New 3DS (XL) and New 2DS XL. I don't know if try I'll add support for the original DS, DSi, or any other older DS models because I don't have long-term access to any of these devices and I don't know if they even have a built-in web browser.
I've been trying to get this piece of shit computer to work properly for the past week, but to no avail. My original plan was to turn this Dual-CPU model Mac Pro into my main computer, meaning I'd have to move both my M.2 drives from my Windows PC to my Mac Pro. I have now taken out my storage devices and transferred them into the Mac Pro, and it just refuses to acknowledge the existence of my 2TB data drive which contains all my games, applications and a lot of my documents. So basically the only functioning computers thet I own are now my (old as fuck) PowerMac G4 MDD, MacBook Pro 2018 with a messed up battery and MacBook Air 2012 that I cracked so it could run the latest version of MacOS. I almost didn't bother to mention my Sony Vaio, that's running Ubuntu Cinnamon, because Linux doesn't support any of the apps I use on a daily basis.
I wanted to upgrade the HDD in my eMac because I wanted to turn it into a machine that I can still use for web browsing and maybe even use it as my main computer for managing this website. After about 15 minutes I figured out how to take off the cover, which unveiled what you see on the picture above. Long story short: I took off one metal panel and got frightened by the idea of touching the wrong component in the wrong way which would cause the CRT display to fire about 24 to 32 kilovolts through my body, which would likely be very very unpleasant to experience.
